MEDIA YOU CAN LOVE: LESLIE KEAN AND JOHN PETERSEN

Leslie Kean is good. I’ve been an admirer of hers for a long time. She’s a first rate journalist.

She has a new book that’s getting attention: “UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record.” In it, high level officials from government and the military tell about their UFO experiences.

This is a 6-minute MSNBC clip where Leslie was being grilled with the standard challenges that make light of the subject. Each time Dylan Ratigan raised a dubious eyebrow, I wondered what I might say, and I marveled at how well she did in responding.

John Petersen is another force for the good, via his Arlington Institute, which keeps tabs on future trends. He and I are very simpatico. This is from what he recently sent in his FUTUREdition e-newsletter:

The day the aliens unambiguously show them self to the world is the day everything changes. There are few wild cards events that I’ve thought about that would have the extraordinarily profound (and potentially positive) implications of such an event. Most people would have to rethink who thought they were.
The piece of his is called “UFOs,” and here’s more of it:

Every once in a while an author friend asks me to write a blurb for their upcoming book. That happened again recently. What was unusual about it was that my comments were picked up by the Los Angeles Times and included on their website.

If you visit the link, you’ll immediately see why my opinion got a little ink – the book is Leslie Kean’s, UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record. John Podesta wrote the introduction to the book and if I hadn’t mentioned his name, I’m sure I wouldn’t have shown up. In any case, Leslie’s book is really a great piece of journalism around a subject that is seldom treated seriously. I think that’s a mistake.

I can’t remember when I haven’t been interested in the bigger questions about how reality works and why some things – like UFOs – which are commonly experienced and reported by millions of people all over the world are ignored by science and the mainstream press. Having spent a good bit of time seriously looking into the subject, I can tell you that anytime I hear anyone summarily discount the validity, let alone possibility, of the existence of these anomalous aerial phenomena, I know that they’re speaking from ignorance. They haven’t seriously looked into the subject. They are not seriously thinking…

Leslie’s book is timely for a number of reasons. One is that quite a few governments (not the U.S., though) have come clean about their long-time interest in the subject. The Mexican military has released quite impressive film footage of unknown craft tailing their air force aircraft. The Belgium government declassified many of their documents. There are quite a number more.

But, I was impressed when a few days ago the Brazilian Air Force reportedly decided to treat the issue with a great deal of transparency. The report came from A. J. Gevaerd, Editor of Brazilian UFO Magazine. Gevaerd – somewhat breathlessly – reports about this new development below. (In his defense, I suppose I’d be a little breathless if I had given my life to a subject like this and my government decided that they were finally going to spill their secrets.)

The point here is that we are clearly in a time of great change, and a significant element of the change is a growing awareness about who we as humans are in the larger spectrum of intelligent life.

Click through to the link above to read about what’s going on in Brazil. By the by, A.J.Gevaerd is an ally of mine, and the only foreign language my DVD has been translated to, thanks to A.J., is Portuguese, in an edition for Brazil.

Reuters Takes UFO Story Seriously

2010 Paranormal Symposium and Film Festival: winners of Sir Arthur Awards for Excellence in Paranormal Filmmaking … me and Terje & Truls Toftenes, allies from the croppie world, with Festival director, Paul Davids, the filmmaker of  “Roswell,” a Showtime hit a few years ago.

Stories about UFOs disarming nukes are well known in the UFO community, and press conferences don’t guarantee press coverage, but the fact that Reuters picked this up is encouraging re the public getting how real this is.

The more I get to be around the UFO world, the more I learn about how the government isn’t telling the truth. At the recent 2010 Paranormal Symposium, the Roswell incident was talked about, reminding me how the official government story from just a few years ago, presumably to once and for all put down the interest in Roswell that has maintained to this day, ascribed it to weather balloons and crash dummies that had not been developed before the 1947 Roswell incident. It’s surreal that distortions like this can occur and there is no way to redress them. Where oh where has our media gone?

This email is from English croppie, David Haith:

Subject: UFOs are Tampering with US Nuclear Weapons

Hi Pals

When Reuters publishes this: U.S. Nuclear Weapons Have Been Compromised by Unidentified Aerial Objects

…one can wonder whether – fingers crossed – the UFO breakthrough into the mainstream media may be close.

Author Robert Hastings, who is organising a press conference in Washington on September 28 in which six former U.S. Air Force officers will reveal their own dramatic experiences involving UFOs at nuclear weapons sites, certainly hopes so, although he admits he still has to persuade the media to actually turn up to hear the evidence!

Certainly the Internet has taken this on board. This pulls up nearly 9,000 hits generated just by Robert’s press release.

So PLEASE FORWARD this email to as many people as possible to get this remarkable story out there and discussed around the world…

Retired Military Personnel To Confirm UFO Incursions at American Nuclear Weapons Sites

Excerpts:

“Declassified U.S. government documents and the testimony of more than 120 former or retired military personnel have established, beyond doubt, the reality of ongoing UFO incursions at American nuclear weapons sites. While most of the incidents apparently involved mere surveillance, in a few cases a significant number of nuclear missiles suddenly and simultaneously malfunctioned, just as USAF Security Policemen reported seeing disc-shaped craft hovering nearby…

“On September 27th, during a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. , six former U.S. Air Force officers and one former enlisted man will reveal their own dramatic experiences involving UFOs at nuclear weapons sites…

“At long last, all of these witnesses are coming forward to say that, as unbelievable as it may seem to some, UFOs have long monitored and sometimes tampered with our nukes. If ever there were a front page story, this is it…”

BBC Complaints Department response re Rendlesham Radio Program

Makes you mad. Grrrr, Look at this exchange about what the BBC did re a famous UFO incident in England that the earmarks of being the real deal. This is from someone in England who has an interest in crop circles and in UFOs:

With reference to that controversial BBC ‘hitpiece’ on the Today
program which aroused so much criticism and discussion earlier
this month.

Like many, I wrote complaining how it was utterly biased and
made no effort to contact people actually involved in the
Rendlesham incident.

I have just received the following reply saying in effect,

“Yes it was meant to… be biased. ”

Here’s the actual  BBC response:

“Thank you for your e-mail regarding the ‘Today’ programme
broadcast on 11 August.

“We forwarded complaints on this issue to Dominic Groves, one
of the output Editors for the ‘Today’ programme. He explained
in response that this was meant to be an impressionistic piece
describing how an avowed sceptic on these issues reacted when
placed at the scene of a well-known incident such as the one in
Rendlesham Forest.”

He further added, “This was not intended to be, not did it claim

to be, an in-depth analysis of the rights and wrongs of that
particular case.
“Please be assured we’ve registered your complaint on our
audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that’s
circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC
Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.
“Thank you once again for taking the trouble to share your views
with us.

“Kind Regards

“BBC Audience Services”

So, there we have it. The show was meant to “describe how a sceptic
reacted” when placed in the Forest along with two other sceptics….

Surprise, surprise……he reacted……sceptically!

How fortunate we are to have the BBC to enlighten us in this way.

I would be interested in feedback from other people who complained
as to whether my reply from the BBC was a ’round robin’ or whether
we all got individual responses.
